Student government has long been just a popularity contest. It didn’t matter because the cheerleader or jock that won didn’t have a responsibility. The Chakoumakos campaign is here to change this. I believe that being the leader of the Oak Ridge High School Junior class should have responsibility. The responsibility of uniting over 400 individuals into one potent body that can change the world. We are less than two years away from college. You are no longer a kid. Your opinion should count and you should be able to voice your opinion. Standing alone, one has to shout to be heard but when you can mobilize the entire Junior Class of Oak Ridge High School, change is inevitable. How can I unite Oak Ridge High School into one thriving student body with a democratic government? Through the use of this website. Every student will be able to sign in and vote on ideas or suggest their own. Why should I alone make decisions affecting each and everyone of you? I shouldn’t, because this elections is about YOU. YOU can make the difference. YOU voice your opinion. YOU help lead. In everyone, there is a leader. I will provide the tools and leadership to bring that leader out of everyone and mobilize the entire class of 2009 to shape the future and the world.
